TOP WOMEN'S GAMES

GC&SU (9-9, 4-7) at USC Aiken (8-9, 4-6)--Wednesday 5:30 p.m. EST
USC Upstate (10-8, 7-4) at Columbus State (11-9, 4-6)--Wednesday 5:30 p.m. EST

If the current Peach Belt Conference standings are any indication, the league has had one of its most mediocre seasons in recent memory, at least in women's basketball. And that mediocrity is evident in the two games presented in the entry listed above. All four teams lost last Saturday, as GC&SU lost to Clayton State 68-62, North Georgia routed USCA 78-59, Upstate fell to UNC Pembroke 66-58, and CSU was defeated at Armstrong Atlantic State 47-43.

TOP MEN'S GAME

USC Upstate (13-4, 8-3) at Columbus State (14-5, 8-2)--Wednesday 7:30 p.m. EST

While North Georgia has dominated the women's race in the PBC with a perfect 12-0 conference mark thus far, it's a much different story with the men's standings, as five teams are separated by just half a game through last weekend's action. Two of those five squads will meet in the Lumpkin Center, with the Cougars hosting the Spartans in the re-match of a contest played just nine nights earlier. CSU head coach Herbert Greene earned his 500th win as a collegiate head coach on Jan. 23, at the expense of the Spartans, as the Cougars pulled out a hard-fought 94-89 win on the road. Will Upstate deliver some payback to CSU on the road this mid-week? This game should provide the answer.
