Georgia College & State University (20-7) vs. Armstrong Atlantic State (22-6)--Peach Belt Conference Men's Tournament Semifinals at Greeenwood, S.C.--Saturday 6 p.m. EST
The second-seeded Bobcats battle the third-seeded Pirates with a trip to Sunday's PBC tournament title game on the line. GC&SU reached the semis with a 78-65 win over UNC Pembroke, while AASU downed Augusta State 76-69, both on Friday. The winner of this contest faces the winner of the Lander-USC Upstate game (see story of Lander's upset win over top-seeded Columbus State below).
Delta State (27-1) vs. Alabama-Huntsville (22-6)--Gulf South Conference Men's Tournament Semifinals at Tupelo, Miss.--Saturday 5:30 p.m. CST
The nation's top-ranked Statesmen face the Chargers for the right to play for the GSC tournament title Sunday. DSU held off a scrappy Valdosta State squad to advance to this weekend's semifinals with a 74-70 win. Meanwhile, UAH held off Central Arkansas to win a 48-46 defensive struggle. The winner of the DSU-UAH game faces the winner of the Montevallo-Arkansas-Monticello contest. By the way, UM got by West Georgia 75-72, while UAM crushed North Alabama 81-62.
