CLAYTON STATE MEN UPSET #2 KENNESAW STATE

The Clayton College & State University men's basketball team pulled off the "upset of the night" in the Peach Belt Conference Wednesday, as the Lakers stunned #2 Kennesaw State in double overtime, 75-70. With the win, Clayton State snapped a two-game winning streak, improving to 17-12 overall, and 10-5 in Peach Belt Conference, while KSU saw its nine game winning streak come to an end, as the Fighting Owls fall to 22-4 overall, 12-3 in PBC action.

The loss proved to be very costly for KSU, as USC Upstate defeated Lander 81-64, also on Wednesday night. The win, combined with Kennesaw State's upset loss, allowed the Spartans to pull into a tie for the Peach Belt Conference regular season lead with one game to play. USC Upstate defeated KSU on the road 81-70 on Jan. 15. The Fighting Owls now must defeat North Florida on Saturday, and hope UNC Pembroke can upset USC Upstate Saturday in order to win their second straight outright Peach Belt Conference regular season title.
