Columbus, GA - Columbus State is among five teams from the Peach Belt Conference ranked in the top 40 in a preseason poll released by the Collegiate Baseball Magazine on Thursday. CSU will begin the 2007 season ranked #14. Georgia College & State University is ranked #2, Francis Marion #6, USC Aiken #22, and USC Upstate checks in at #37. Armstrong Atlantic State, Lander, and UNC Pembroke all recieved votes. Tampa, the defending D-II champion, is ranked preseason #1.
CSU went 41-20 last season and will open the 2007 campaign at home against West Alabama in a doubleheader on February 3.
