The Cotton Blossoms hit the road to face the Bisons in hopes of maintaining at least a share of first place in the Gulf South Conference West Division Monday night. UAM knocked 2004 Final Four participant Henderson State 67-59 Thursday night, while Harding defeated Delta State on the road 52-37 the same night.

The Braves and Blazers square off in a key early season Gulf South Conference East Division battle Monday night. Both teams were pushed to the limit before finally winning, as West Georgia needed overtime to beat West Florida 100-91, while VSU struggled against a scrappy Lincoln Memorial squad before prevailing 57-49.
