Two nationally ranked NCAA Division II men's basketball teams from the Peach Belt Conference opened league play on the road Wednesday night. But only one of them left with a win, as Todd McLaurin made a desperation trey at the buzzer to lead #2 Clayton State to a 67-64 win over Georgia Southwestern State at Americus, Ga.
Across the state in Savannah, #21 Georgia College & State University was not as fortunate, as the Bobcats lost to Armstrong Atlantic State 66-64 on a last second shot in the closing seconds despite a game-high 24 points from Shaun Keaton. Bryan Taylor scored 16 points, while Jamaal Galloway added 11 points to lead the Pirates to the upset win.
