While their male counterparts have been getting a lot of the attention lately, winners of nine straight games, the Lady Falcons have quietly vaulted themselves into Gulf South Conference tournament contention with four games left to play. UM downed Alabama-Huntsville 60-46 on Saturday, while UNA knocked off West Alabama 78-61 that same night.

The Falcons hope to extend their winning streak to 10 games when they face the Lions in a game with GSC tournament implications. UM clinched a spot in the conference tournament with a 74-67 win over Alabama-Huntsville on Saturday, while UNA pulled into a tie for second place in the Gulf South Conference East Division with a 109-85 rout of West Alabama. The Lions pulled even with Valdosta State, who fell 91-69 at West Georgia, also on Saturday.
