D2SS: The Weekend

The first weekend of February brings quite a few critical games on the hardwood...in D-II South Nation. But first, here's a quick look at this week's regional rankings. The full women's rankings are here, while the men's charts can be found here.

Women

Clayton State (17-3) at Georgia College & State University (15-5)--Saturday 1:30 p.m. EST

Both teams come into this key Peach Belt Conference match-up tied for first place in the West Division. The Laker women, though, have their sights set on payback, as the Lady Bobcats pulled off the upset win at Clayton State last month.

Men

A triple play of key games listed below. All are played on Saturday.

Clark Atlanta (17-2, 14-2) at Benedict (11-8, 10-6)--3 p.m. EST: The first-place Panthers hope to build on their sizable lead in the SIAC standings against the Tigers at Columbia, S.C.

Columbus State (10-9, 4-6) at North Georgia (12-8, 7-3)--3:30 p.m. EST: The Saints (no, not the ones from New Orleans) will try to bounce back after losing a toughie at GC&SU, 88-84, Wednesday night.

North Alabama (10-11, 2-4) at West Georgia (10-10, 2-3)--7:30 p.m. EST: Both teams must win to stay in the hunt for a Gulf South Conference tournament berth.
