The selections for the 2011 NCAA Division II baseball tournament are out, and eight teams from D-II South Nation made the field.
In the Southeast Region, three teams from the Peach Belt Conference made the field, while in the South Region, the Gulf South Conference invited four teams, with West Florida serving as the host squad, while Stillman was the lone SIAC team to earn an NCAA bid, as the Tigers advanced as an automatic qualifier via winning the conference tournament.
In all, 48 teams nationwide earned berths to the NCAA tournament, with six teams selected from the Southeast Region, while eight teams advanced to the South Regional tourney.

NCAA Softball Tournament Underway
The NCAA Division II softball tournament got underway at select campus sites throughout the nation Friday. D-II South Nation was well represented, with five teams from the Peach Belt Conference advancing to the Southeast Regional, while three squads from the Gulf South Conference, as well as one from the SIAC, advanced to the South Regional.

Shorter applies for D-II status
It's official. Shorter University in Rome, Georgia has applied to join the NCAA Division II ranks. The current NAIA school plans to seek membership in the Gulf South Conference. School officials have until June 1 to complete their application to the NCAA.

Baseball Postseason Update
