The Peach Belt Conference made history on Tuesday. Lander and Clayton State were ranked Nos. 1 and 2, respectively, in the latest WBCA/ESPN/USA Today NCAA Division II women's basketball coaches poll. It's the first time in PBC history that two current league members ranked among the top two teams nationally.

Shorter University thinking D-II
The Gulf South Conference might be here to stay after all. Officials at Shorter University in Rome, Ga. are exploring the possibility of moving up to the NCAA Division II ranks, as well as joining the GSC. Shorter athletic director Bill Peterson and president Harold Newman announced that move earlier this week. Click the link below for more details, courtesy of the Rome (Ga.) News-Tribune.

Women's Basketball: Clayton State-USC Aiken showdown on national TV
It's showdown time in the Peach Belt Conference this weekend, as USC Aiken (15-2, 7-0 PBC) plays host to unbeaten Clayton State (14-0, 3-0) this Saturday. The game will be televised live on CBS College Sports, starting at 12 p.m. EST. The game will also be carried in streaming video at NCAA.com.
