VALDOSTA STATE COACH RESIGNS

Valdosta State University (Ga.) is now in the market for a new men's basketball head coach, as Jim Yarbrough resigned Thursday to take the head coaching position at NCAA Division I Southeastern Louisiana University. In five seasons at VSU, Yarbrough led the Blazers to a 97-42 record, while leading them to two Gulf South Conference East Division titles, as well as two trips to the NCAA tournament.

DELTA STATE BASEBALL ELIMINATED

There will be a new national champion in NCAA Division II baseball, as Delta State's quest for a repeat ended Wednesday with a 11-7 loss to Grand Valley State. On Monday, the Statesmen fell to Central Missouri State 2-1 for their first loss of the Division II World Series in Montgomery, Ala. The Lakers will face North Florida in a 2:30 p.m. Central time start on Thursday.
